BLACKPINK is racking up the international nominations as the YG Entertainment artists have picked up three nominations from Brazilian music awards, BreakTudo Awards.
Proving the BLACKPINK has a wide international reach, Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rose collectively garnered three nominations from the award-giving body, tying with BTS with the most nominations received for a Kpop group. BLACKPINK was nominated for Best Kpop Female Group, Best Collaboration for Kiss and Make Up, and Video of the Year for Kill This Love. BTS, for their part, picked up nods for Best Kpop Male Group, International Fandom for their BTS ARMY and International Group of the Year, All Kpop reported.
It can be recalled that BLACKPINK recently picked up a win at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards for Choice Song by a Group for DDU DU DDU DU. Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rose are also nominated for the Best Kpop Group at MTV's Video Music Awards (VMAs) where they are pitted against BTS, EXO, MONSTA X and TXT for the prize.
It was recently announced that BLACKPINK and BTS were also nominated in the newly opened Best Group Category of the VMAs. The new category is decided by fan voting within a limited period.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has released a clip of their promotion for their private stage concert, Chapter 1. The clip provides a glimpse behind the scenes as they prepare for their concerts and after they interact with their fans.
The video ends with the simple message "See you soon, BLINKs" which could mean that they are cooking up something special to return to the stage again, All Kpop reported.
For the last quarter of the year, it is expected that BLACKPINK will release their Japanese album with the Japanese version of Kill This Love as a title track. This comes at the heels of their successful participation in the Japanese music festival a-nation where they joined Kpop and Japanese artists in performing for music fans.
The album also serves as a lead up to BLACKPINK's Japan Dome Tour which is expected to happen from December this year to February 2020. Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo are expected to perform in the biggest concert venues in the country including the Tokyo Dome Arena, the Kyocera Dome Arena in Osaka and the Fukuoka Yahoo Japan Dome in Fukuoka.
The Japan Dome Arena and the Kyocera Dome both hold a seating capacity of 55,000 fans per event while the Fukuoka Yahoo Dome carries a seating capacity of 47,500 concertgoers.
