On My Block Season 3 is now in the works after the cast members have negotiated new salary deals. The fan-favorite characters will surely return, and viewers can expect to see more scenes of Spooky after Julio Macias has been promoted as a series regular.

Macias plays the role of Cesar's (Diego Tinoco) older brother, Oscar, who is also the Santos gang leader Spooky. However, according to Deadline, the 28-year-old star will have a bigger role in the coming new season.

With what happened in the previous season finale, Spooky might never be too kind to his brother and his friends, who got abducted. Macias told MEA Worldwide the kidnapping could have a connection to the Roller World money and that could be tied into a bigger narrative. He also has a conspiracy theory that it would go deeper this time.

"I think that the money might be older than we think it is," he said. "It's not just the Roller World stuff."

Macias believed there is someone else behind the abduction. He didn't know who it is, but he is hoping it is not someone on his character's side. Hence, it might be the Santos, which would be very interesting given the fact that it would give Spooky a challenge of going against his second family, which is the gang.

Meanwhile, before On My Block Season 3's production started, the show had been in a limbo after its main cast members, Sierra Capri (Monse Finnie), Jason Genao (Ruby Martinez), Brett Gray (Jamal Turner), Diego Tinoco (Cesar Diaz), and Jessica Marie Garcia (Jasmine), negotiated for new salary deals. These stars wanted to match the income of the young casts of 13 Reasons Why and Stranger Things.

TVLine noted these stars used to make $20,000 per episode for the first two seasons. But when Netflix renewed the show, the core four, along with Garcia, negotiated as a group to raise their salary to $250,000 per day. After Netflix had an initial offer of $45,000 per episode, they ended up with $81,250 per episode.

Netflix recently announced the start of On My Block Season 3 production with a video on Instagram. It featured the lead stars Capri, Genao, Gray, and Tinoco as they teased the filming's beginning. The streaming giant has yet to announce when the new season will be out, but it is expected for release in March 2020 if it follows its suit.
