On the recent cast photos, the fan-favorite casts, like David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster), Jennifer "J.J." Jareau (A.J. Cook), Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler), Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez), and Matt Simmons (Daniel Henney), will return to reprise their respective roles. Rachael Leigh Cook and Jane Lynch will also join the show to be Reid's new love interest, Max, and his mother, Diana.
However, there is someone who fans want to see in Criminal Minds Season 15. For the last time, viewers want to see Moore play the role of the sexy Supervisory Special Agent Derek Morgan. It has been quite three years since the 49-year-old star left the show.
To recall, he left the BAU when he survived the kidnapping to spend more time with his family. In 2016, executive producer Erica Messer revealed Moore decided to leave, believing it was the right time to leap and try new things, per a letter from CBS. But, will he return for the final season?
In an interview with Deadline in January, Messer teased the possibility of including old favorites in Criminal Minds Season 15. "I am very hopeful that we can honor all of those characters who have been beloved and with this team, with the audience for years," she said. However, she didn't reveal the names of the stars that would make their way back to the show.
Moore even hinted the possibility of his return when he told TV Guide, via Pop Sugar, that he was open to reprising his role after Messer refused to kill Morgan. Although he had no plans to sign another long-term contract, he was willing to make a comeback and dance.
Devdiscourse added there is also a big possibility that past seasons' antagonists would return to Criminal Minds Season 15. The last and final season would also explore Jennifer and Reid's relationship.
Although Reid would have a new love interest, things would be quite memorable to the show's avid fans with what is going to happen. Viewers will see Max as a kind-hearted woman who is also quirky and candid. She will begin a friendship with Reid that would develop into an extraordinary romance.
However, Cook will only be seen in the show's two episodes. CBS has yet to announce when Criminal Minds Season 15 will be out, but it is expected for release in 2020.
