A leaked Amazon listing has suggested that American video game company Blizzard Entertainment might be planning to bring its popular team-based first-person shooter game, Overwatch, to the Nintendo Switch.

The Amazon listing revealed what appears to be the official "Overwatch logo" on a Nintendo Switch case by video game peripheral manufacturer PowerA, and it continued to say "Officially Licensed by Nintendo and Blizzard Entertainment." The listing has since been taken down after it was posted on Twitter as well as on Reset Era's forums.

Although the leaked product listing may not be enough to serve as a confirmation, the idea of Blizzard and Nintendo coming together to port a game to the Switch is not new. A similar move was already made in the past by both companies when they joined forces to bring the Diablo 3 Eternal Collection to the Nintendo Switch.

Last year, the Diablo 3 Eternal Collection was officially made available to Nintendo Switch players, which was a great way to grind on the go. On top of that, Jeff Kaplan, Blizzard's Vice President and Game Director of Overwatch, had expressed his interest and the company's open-mindedness to make this idea once again a reality for Overwatch back in 2017.

"I'm loving the Switch! My second favorite gaming platform of all time is the 3DS. Getting OW on the Switch is very challenging for us. But we're always open-minded about exploring possible platforms." Kaplan writes.

What's more, Diablo 3 Senior Producer Pete Stilwell told Gamespot last year about the possibility of porting Overwatch to the Nintendo Switch. According to Stilwell, "it is very feasible" for the game to work on the Switch; however, his team's focus at that time was on Diablo 3.

So, with that in mind, it's possible that this speculation could turn out to be true. But for now, it can only be taken with a pinch of salt. Since BlizzCon 2019 is just around the corner, it's just a matter of time until fans find out.

In the meantime, Blizzard has been very busy with the worldwide launch of its most awaited video game, World of Warcraft Classic, which just went live today. There are also rumors that Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 may be revealed at the upcoming BlizzCon 2019 event in November. But as for the Nintendo Switch, on the other hand, fans are still currently waiting for the release of the upcoming model of the hybrid console, Nintendo Switch 2.
