Viewers will be seeing more of Shelby Flannery in The 100 season 7, as the adult Hope Diyoza actress has been promoted as series regular. So, that only means the series has no intention to resolve the character's story in the future.

Flannery will be full-time in The 100 season 7 and viewers will see her more frequently in the upcoming installment, as reported by TVLine. But what does this mean? Probably, the series will see more of how she exactly emerged from the Anomaly as a young adult.

Generally, the Anomaly becomes one of the biggest carryover plots from season 6, which should be addressed along with other matters. There are a lot of loose ends here, particularly when it comes to the major plot events and relationships. Hence, the story needs to tie all of these before it ends.

Showrunner Jason Rothenberg talked about Flannery's character and why she was promoted as series regular. He said the actress was awesome and revealed that Flannery just out of drama school - so she's new with all of these. The showrunner added the actress' character, Hope, will be a big part as we move forward in the story.

"I have a good feeling about her as an actress and a person," Rothenberg also said. "We've got her in serious fight training right now."

Thus, the adult version of Hope will create a huge impact in The 100 season 7, and she's going to bring some of the biggest action sequences. The hardest part, however, is that viewers need to wait for quite some time before seeing the series back in action.

The CW renewed The 100 season 7 in April 2019, and at the time of the renewal, it was speculated this would be the final installment. It turns that these speculations were true, as the network confirmed the news during the TCA presentation in August 2019. But, Rothenberg noted it was a "creative decision" to end the show, and it wasn't just decided by The CW.

The official release date of The 100 season 7 has yet to be announced. But, seasons 5 and 6 aired in April 2018 and 2019, respectively. So, it's safe to assume the final installment will arrive around the same month in 2020. However, the new season will reportedly consist of 16 episodes for the first time since season 3, so some speculated The CW would release the series in March 2020 to accommodate more time.
