It's official - the newest iPhones are coming to town. An Apple event has been prepared for September, and everyone knows what this means.

Just before August ends, Apple sent out media invites for an event to be held at the Steve Jobs Theater at its Apple Park campus on September 10. There is an assumption that this event is for the launching of the newest iPhones and other new product offerings if there are, as reported by Business Insider.

Since 2012, Apple has launched a new iPhone every September without fail. Given how it names its iPhones year after year, the new range will be called different versions of iPhone 11, such as iPhone 11s, 11 Pro and so on, unless the company decides to do something new this year. There are speculations that some versions will have the highly-anticipated triple-lens camera.

Rumors have it that aside from the ability to take ultra-wide-angle photos, the new phones may also have a feature that allows for wireless charging of Apple accessories - the Apple Watch and Airpods. Users will just need to rest these accessories on the back of their iPhone 11, and they will already be charged, as reported by Bloomberg.

There might be at least three variants to the iPhone 11, given the pattern that the company established since 2017. Last year, they released the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. If the company continues with this pattern, then the world just might see the iPhone 11, iPhone 11S, and 11 Pro launched. Maybe an iPhone 11R too. None of these phones are said to have 5G compatibility just yet. Apple is only expected to release its 5G units by 2020 and not this year.

Apart from these new phones, Apple might also share some information about the new Apple TV Plus entertainment service. The Apple Arcade gaming subscription might also be discussed at the event. Even though not usually receiving such a fanfare, there are speculations that a new Apple Watch might be unveiled this time.

With excitement drumming up for the new phones, it can also be observed that some are no longer as excited as they were in the past. Some have simply become used to Apple's ways - offering incremental changes in new phones that cost so high still. For instance, CNET wrote, "Apple is going to try to get us excited about a lot of incremental upgrades: more advanced cameras, faster chips... and perhaps new colors (including dark green). And yet the flagship iPhone 11 is likely to cost just as much as the iPhone XS, with a starting price around $1,000."

All these are fine since Apple's products are known for quality, but it cannot be denied that its competitors, such as Huawei and Samsung are releasing phones for the past years already have the functions being predicted that the iPhone 11 will have, if not more. And yet, their premium phones packed with much capacity are usually not as highly-priced as the iPhones. Some believe that Apple is no longer as innovative as it once was, preferring to play it safe.
