The Flash season 6 is arriving next month, and viewers will see several changes when the new installment arrives. While Nora's departure might be a big change for the show, Iris' new look might be a smaller one - but it brings fun in the upcoming season.
Recently, Candice Patton, who plays Iris, shared via Twitter her new look - particularly her hairstyle. Some may think it will not create an impact in the upcoming installment, but the actress said: "It means a lot to wear my curls on The Flash. And I know it will go to so many of you who look like me."
She then revealed that they asked showrunner Eric Wallace about this matter, and he gave her the go-ahead signal. Patton also revealed that her new look is a "big deal" and that she's happy they were able to do a small change with such a large impact. As per her post, the character's new look will be featured in The Flash season 6 episode 5.
In a report via TVLine, Wallace also talked about Patton's character new look, saying that there's a reason why Iris' hair is that way, and it has something to do with "fun." The showrunner added that it's not just showing more sides of the character, but it's also about letting Patton show more sides of her as a person, as well as an actress.
"I love her hair that way. I wouldn't be surprised to see it more than once that way this season," Wallace also noted. Furthermore, he shared the journalism story of Iris in The Flash season 6 is going to be on fire and they're looking forward how the character could get her new publication off the ground.
He revealed that when the new season premieres, Iris's paper is going to have to "grow up real fast." There are still more stories to cover - even though Iris already has an audience. That's good news for fans of the character since she has a lot of things to take on in the series.
In a related report, some photos from the premiere episode of The Flash season 6 featured Iris and Barry. There's probably a change in the timeline as one of the photos showed the two standing in a room, who are likely looking at the infamous newspaper headline. They'll soon realize that the time of Barry's disappearance is fast approaching, which is going to be a big problem and it will define much of the story.
The Flash season 6 will premiere on Tuesday, October 8, on The CW.
