There is a good reason why Frozen 2 is one of the most highly anticipated films of 2019. After all, the first movie proved to be a huge success for Disney. However, all the success still isn't enough for Kristen Bell. Interestingly, the Veronica Mars star claims that there is one thing that she didn't like about the 2013 animated movie.
Kristen Bell played Princess Anna of Arendelle in the first movie and is set to reprise her role in Frozen 2. It's an awesome role, and there is little doubt that Bell truly enjoyed playing the idealistic princess in the animate feature. However, the Forgetting Sarah Marshall actress also revealed that there was one thing she could have changed about the original movie. Interestingly, it has something to do with how one of the central characters was portrayed.
The Safety Not Guaranteed star recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about Frozen 2 where she confirmed that her co-star Jonathan Groff will finally get to sing in the sequel. Kristen Bell expressed excitement over the development since Groff was not given any singing parts in the original film.
"That was my one critique," Bell said. "We didn't get enough Jonathan Groff singing, and to me, he has one of the best singing voices I've ever heard. I would listen to him singing the alphabet forever, and he really gets his dessert in this movie."
Jonathan Groff played Kristoff, the iceman who helps Princess Anna find her sister Queen Elsa of Arendelle in the first movie. Although Groff had several lines, he barely had a singing part in the original film. Luckily, things will change in Frozen 2, and fans will finally get to hear Kristoff sing.
Although she is truly looking forward to hearing Jonathan Groff sing in the sequel, Kristen Bell admitted that she enjoyed working with her other co-stars Idina Menzel and Josh Gad as well.
"It's so much fun to sing with those three. I mean, truly," Bell said. "You don't get to record with your cast mates when you're doing an animated movie, but every time we're together to do press like this and stuff, we are in love with each other."
The second film will also introduce Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood as Queen Iduna, the mother of Princess Anna and Queen Elsa. In addition to that, This Is Us actor Sterling K. Brown will provide the voice of Lieutenant Destin Mattias. Frozen 2 will premiere on November 22.
