FBI season 2 is scheduled to air later this month, and in the premiere episode, viewers will see OA working on a case which eventually becomes personal for him. So, here's what to expect in the first episode of the new season titled "Little Egypt."
According to the synopsis of FBI season 2, a case becomes personal for OA after a bomb detonates at a restaurant in Queens - he grew up eating there. At first, it was assumed that it was a terrorist attack, but it later revealed itself to be more complex. So, OA goes undercover to prevent another attack from happening.
When FBI season 2 premieres, viewers will witness an overall sense of drama and the danger that's possibly waiting for OA on the other side. The focus of the premiere episode is the place he considers home, and he feels like a part of him is being attacked because of it.
OA needs to do everything that he can to patch together the pieces and find out what happened. Of course, he's looking for answers, and he will do whatever he can to get those behind the attack. Meanwhile, John Boyd guest stars as Stuart Scola, and he's going to be Kristen's partner out in the field.
But, another thing to anticipate in FBI season 2 is the arrival of Alana de la Garza into the series, where she'll be playing the role of Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille. The actress steps in the show following Sela Ward's exit in season 1. She was originally part of FBI: Most Wanted, but it was revealed de la Garza would also join the main show.
There's no need to worry though, as the actress is still part of Most Wanted with a recurring role. The spin-off will premiere about earlier next year, and the reason why she has a recurring role is largely because of the shared universe of the two series.
Also, there are reportedly discussions about bringing a third show within the FBI universe. If ever that happens, there's a chance for de la Garza and other cast members to jump for one series to another. However, nothing is confirmed at the moment, so everything remains speculation for now.
FBI season 2 will premiere on Tuesday, September 24, on CBS. The network will surely have fantastic ratings later this month as NCIS season 17 will also premiere on that same day, wherein Cote de Pablo's Ziva returns in the series after years.
