Mr. Robot and Elliot's battle against E Corp is now coming to a conclusion. With the newly released 30-second trailer, it gave the fans the first few looks at what's coming. And it seems that all is going way down south for Elliot and the whole crew.
The holiday-themed trailer, featuring a sad and "creepy" Silent Night in the background, showed Elliot's popular blank stare as he declares that they need to go back to work. It did not show who he is talking to. But it's all clear that he's talking to Mr. Robot, or rather, to himself.
Mr. Robot warned him that the path he's currently taking is headed to a huge catastrophe. He told him that it's not going to end well, especially for him. But Rami Malek's Elliot did not flinch. Instead, he responded that it's a little too late for all the warnings considering how things went down in the previous seasons.
Even so, the trailer showed that there would be casualties. It even hinted that Elliot might be the one causing it all since Mr. Robot told him that what he's doing is already "crossing the line." Accordingly, this only goes to show that Mr. Robot Season 4 will be a very sad and catastrophic final run for everyone.
The likes of Angela, Darlene, and Krista are also depicted on the trailer. And it looks like that they are troubled and worried about something. The outcome of Elliot's actions, perhaps.
BD Wong's and Michael Cristofer's characters, Whiterose and Phillip Price, respectively, are also seen in the trailer. And by the looks of it, they both looked surprised with what's happening.
According to TV Line, there is no direct indication as to how the fourth season will play out. But it seemingly appears that the final season will pick up where Mr. Robot Season 3 ended. And this is with Elliot's hitting the "send" button for the email that could well-reverse the events of 5/9.
While other reports have largely dwelled on the show's possible plot, Metro UK, on the other hand, focuses on the show's future in terms of continuity. It has been revealed that the series creator, Sam Esmail, planned for the fourth season to be the series' conclusion all along.
He explained in an interview that he did not think of Mr. Robot as a series that will incur a large cult following. So, it came as a surprise that the show has received recognition over the past three seasons.
But even so, Sam Esmail has remained firm about his vision that the show would end in "one conclusion." And in Mr. Robot Season 4, this conclusion will finally arrive.
After two years of waiting, Mr. Robot Season 4 is finally here. It will premiere on October 6, on USA Network.
