Anne With An E received its renewal confirmation last August 2018. And for over a year, the fans have been waiting for updates and details about the new season.
Sadly, little has been shared about the show. And it seems that both the cast and crew are not sparing any detail about the upcoming season.
Even so, this only makes the series so much more intriguing and interesting. Avid fans can no longer wait anymore. This is many of them have already theorized a lot of things that could happen on Anne With An E Season 3.
One of the most prominent theories among the fandom is that someone might die in the new season. While some does not appreciate the idea considering the overall dynamic and theme of the show, it seems that this is still plausible, especially on Ruby's end since this is what happened in the original plot.
It is worth noting that Anne With An E is a direct adaptation to Lucy Maud Montgomery's 1908 novel titled, Anne of Green Gables. And in the novel, Ruby faced her tragic end in the near finale of the paperback.
But as to the possibility of it happening in the series is still unknown. Even so, there are speculations that CBC might just follow the novels and not deviate too much.
Aside from the possible death in the new season, MEA Worldwide asserted that the plot for Anne With An E Season 3 would be much deeper and more serious. This is because it will tackle many social issues like gender parity, identity, and femininity.
During the pilot run, the installment largely focused on Anne's adjustment to her new family and surrounding. As for the second season, it focused on expanding her relationships in the new location. Hence, new friends and chums.
For the third season, since Anne is now starting to become a full-bloomed lady, the issues will focus more on the deeper aspects of becoming a woman. It is revealed that it will involve new romances and relationships, especially between Anne and Gilbert.
These points are the things that have been disclosed about the new season. And as for its arrival on CBC, it will premiere on September 22.
For its Netflix premiere, no further information has been given yet. But it is highly likely that the third season will arrive on the platform before 2019 ends.
