A new report citing sources close to Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi says that the couple's long-term marriage is melting down. De Rossi is upset that her wife has rejected to relocate in Australia as DeGeneres recently renewed her contract to keep working as a successful talk show host.
According to Star, De Rossi was inconsolable when DeGeneres announced that she will still be staying on television until 2020. De Rossi was expecting that DeGeneres was going to quit because they had plans to move to Australia, where De Rossi hails from.
"She told all her friends she was looking forward to retiring and now Portia sees it as a betrayal," the source told the tabloid.
Since confirming that she has renewed her contract with the network, DeGeneres and De Rossi's marriage has been unstable. Married for 11 years, the two have been fighting all the time with De Rossi leaving the house for hours without telling her wife.
A lot of viewers thought that DeGeneres would quit while she was ahead since she did talk about retiring in a December interview with Vanity Fair. DeGeneres also shared that De Rossi would be very happy if she doesn't work on her daytime talk show anymore.
The host also said that she would love to return to doing movies or to work on more stand-up comedies, which was how she got started in Hollywood. She has a film project in the pipeline and other projects with the Ellen Digital Network (EDN).
"There's a movie I'm trying to make that was a very successful book that we're working on right now," DeGeneres said in a Deadline interview, adding that her production outfit will be diverse. "We have animation, we have TV, we have movies, we have reality. I like just a whole broad range of things."
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop has debunked the claims that this famous couple's marriage is on the rocks because of DeGeneres' refusal to quit working and move to Australia. The news outlet stated that the couple has no marital issues, despite how many fabricated reports about their impending divorce.
De Rossi addressed those divorce rumors before. The actress said that she and DeGeneres don't care about the stories written of their marriage and as much as possible, they avoid these tabloids.
