Floyd Mayweather is being lined up for one more exhibition bout after the one in Tokyo back on New Year's Eve. This time, this match will be held in China.

According to the South China Morning Post, the former five-division world champion, already 42, will take part in an exhibition fight in China after the memorable one he participated in Japan. IT ca be remembered then that he was compensated $9 million to win against Japanese kickboxing sensation Tenshin Nasukawana within 136 seconds.

This exhibition fight will be announced on September 18. The Mission Hills Groups already invited media members for the said event. The press conference will be held in Haikou, Haina. This is a big deal as it will be the world-renowned boxer's "first fight in China."

Mayweather already went into "retirement" back in August 2018, after winning against UFA superstar Conor McGregor. The matched lasted a total of ten rounds at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The details of this exhibition fight in China will yet to be finalized and discussed, but the said match is already said to take place in 2020.

"The press conference will announce that Mayweather will hold a boxing match in China next year," a spokesperson revealed to the Post. "We have already got the Hainan government's temporary approval for this event," the spokesperson added.

According to the spokesperson, Floyd still needs to agree with the terms and conditions of the said event. "The details are not 100 percent confirmed yet. We are in the process of negotiating details with Mayweather's management," the spokesperson explained.

More importantly, who will be fighting against Mayweather is yet to be determined. This will be done through a recruitment campaign held in Chia. Ironically, even though this will going to be a heated match, the boxing event is designed to bring the two powerful nations closer together.

According to the media invitation, the match's main objective is to improve the friendship of the United States and China. At the same time, the match also has some practical, economic considerations. It can enhance the popularity for Hainan as a tourism destination and at the same time, help Mission Hills attain its mission of "bringing world-class sports events to Haikou," the media invitation read.

Mayweather is said to tour the Missions Hills Resort Haikou first in the afternoon on September 17 and then participate in a private welcome dinner. On September 18, the signing ceremony, the group interview, and other crucial fanfare will take place.
