The Handmaid's Tale Season 4 is coming, and fans may finally see Nick Blaine (Max Minghella) returning. Commander Fred Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) and Serena Joy Waterford's (Yvonne Strahovski) Guardian and driver has been missing since Season 3 Episode 6, "Household." But, there are swirling rumors he will return to the upcoming season for a reunion with June (Elisabeth Moss).

The show's third season had surprised the fans after June managed to carry out her plans to free 52 children of Gilead. However, despite saving other's kids, she didn't manage to save her own.

The drama even turned intense when June got caught up in the middle of a shootout with one of the guards, while her plans seemed to be going smoothly. This scene might have put June's life at risk, possibly leaving her fatally wounded, per Express.

With all the things happening to June, will there be a chance she would meet Nick again in The Handmaid's Tale Season 4? In the previous season's sixth installment, fans saw Nick headed to the war front in Chicago. At the time, June only found out his role in the Giles Crusade shortly after his departure.

In the first two seasons, Nick has shown great sympathy for the rebel causes. He, too, has been involved with the Mayday network that helped organized the Canada flight to freedom that completed Season 3's end.

Despite serving the Waterfords, he has no love for this family after stealing his child and treating June in a very horrible way for too many years. In 2017, Minghella described his character's relationship with Fred and Serena as "submissive," where he has no hold of any power.

"His role on paper is as a guardian and a lawn boy to the Waterford house," he told Vanity Fair. Now that Nick is the Commander and the Waterfords are in prison; he should never be afraid of any repercussions that he might face when he defies them.

However, Minghella refused to reveal Nick's role in the Waterfords' storyline in The Handmaid's Tale Season 4 in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. He even looked uncomfortable when the reporter assumed Nick would be "intimately involved" in where Serena's story would go.

Does Nick have something to do with Serena's arrest by tipping off the authorities about her whereabouts? Does he already make a heel turn or he is only using her stand as the new Commander to take Gilead down from within? Fans have to wait and see what will happen from here in The Handmaid's Tale Season 4 when it hits the small screens on Hulu probably in 2020.
