Star Wars fans have been hoping that they haven't seen the last of Hayden Christensen. This is why there have been speculations that the Jumper star might reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode 9. But is it possible that Disney accidentally confirmed that Christensen would show up in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker? A recent incident involving Disney and a fan convention may have revealed that Christensen is a huge part of the upcoming film.

People were delighted when it was confirmed that Hayden Christensen would be reunited with fellow Star Wars prequel trilogy actor Ian McDiarmid at FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. Several fans were already looking forward to seeing the actors together and perhaps get their thoughts on the upcoming Star Wars Episode 9. Unfortunately, the reunion never happened at the convention. The Star Wars panel where Christensen and McDiarmid were supposed to guest in was canceled at the last minute.

It's a surprising cancellation considering that fans knew that Hayden Christensen and Ian McDiarmid were already in Salt Lake City. The two had previously visited Intermountain Primary Children's Hospital to meet some young patients. The event was even covered by KUTV News and a video showing the Star Wars actors hanging out with their young fans was posted on Facebook. It seemed unlikely that the two would cancel their appearance at FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention at such short notice.

So what happened to the Star Wars panel at FanX Salt Lake? One video taken by a fan who was supposed to attend the event revealed that they were told the panel was canceled by Disney. According to the fan, Disney would not allow Hayden Christensen and Ian McDiarmid to take the stage and even threatened legal action if the panel would proceed. Unfortunately, the convention was forced to cancel the panel since there were no other guests who could take over.

The move certainly had people talking since it seemed to involve Hayden Christensen. There are speculations that Disney was worried that fans would realize that Christensen will be in Star Wars Episode 9 to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker. However, it is also possible that Disney did not want Ian McDiarmid to answer too many questions about Emperor Palpatine's return in The Rise of Skywalker. For now, Disney has not yet addressed the incident.

Will Hayden Christensen's Darth Vader return in Star Wars Episode 9? The truth will be revealed when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
