The talks about Longmire Season 7 is still evident in recent times. Despite having a good and satisfying finale, the fans have remained hopeful that the show would return.
While it is normal for any loyal fanbase to hope for their favorite shows to return even after cancellation, the case is undoubtedly unique for Longmire. As it happens, the series had already concluded two years ago.
The first three seasons of the series originally aired on A&E. But after its third run on the network, A&E canceled the show for good. No one knows why but it became too controversial as the series was the network's highest-rated material at that time as per Kiss Casper.
Shortly after the cancellation, Netflix saved the series and commissioned new seasons of the show. But just right before the fifth season premiere, the streaming giant announced that the show would finally conclude its plot in its sixth season run.
On November of 2017, Netflix released the entire sixth season housing a total of ten episodes. Many were satisfied with the ending of the series. Others, however, deemed the finale as a disappointing conclusion for the show. But even so, almost everyone has hoped for a new season to continue the show.
Sadly, the series has already covered the entirety of its source material, Walt Longmire Mysteries series of novels authored by Craig Johnson. And it seemed that the creators did not want to deviate from the books just to lengthen the course of the show. This is why, as per reports, Longmire Season 7 did not happen then and will not, in the future.
The truth is - it was not revealed why the show would not continue further. And the only thing that made sense in terms of its "cancellation" was the speculation regarding the end-to-end coverage of the material source.
Accordingly, fans are still not convinced that it should be the end run for the show. And up until today, the majority of the fans are still hoping for its return.
Aside from the undisclosed reason regarding its cancellation, Longmire is a great show in totality. It received many accolades over the years. Not to mention, the fans are still "loyal" when it comes to the production's events like the annual Longmire Days.
Last July, the Longmire Days 2019 was celebrated by the show's cast members together with the fans in Wyoming. And just like its previous events, it was a success.
Whatever the case though, and no matter how successful these events were, Longmire Season 7 will still not happen. And unless the production and cast confirm otherwise, the show will forever hold its sixth season as its final run on small screens.
