In less than four weeks, The Blacklist Season 7 will finally premiere. After the previous season's cliffhanger, fans are surely excited to know what will happen next. This is why a lot of theories and speculations are now circulating all over the media.

While the details of the new season are quite limited, the avid viewers are adamant in finding out the following events. So, when there are new updates for the show, new theories are flowing as well.

Recently, series creator, Jon Bokencamp, revealed in an interview with TV Line that The Blacklist Season 7 would have Katarina as the show's "Big Bad." It is quite given already considering how her character was built up during the early seasons.

However, no one expected that she would be the "most formidable" big bad. After all, many are convinced that Red will take the spot in the future. But the case is sealed as Bokencamp emphasized that Katarina will now start to play everything in her own hands.

It is also worth remembering that Red was drugged and dragged out of the street to somewhere no one knows yet. The supposed close and "intimate" meeting in Paris with Katarina, after so many years, went south when Red chose to do it alone. And it seemingly looks like that the new season will immediately pick this up once it airs on television screens.

Jon Bokencamp further hinted that Katarina and Liz might finally meet in The Blacklist Season 7. But since Liz did not really "know" her mother well, there is a huge possibility that she would not identify her when they come face-to-face. Therefore, this is going to be a great opportunity for Katarina to assume an identity to get to Liz.

As per Cinema Blend, some fans are convinced that Katarina will assume an identity that will allow her to replace Samar. As any avid fan would recall, Samar left in Season 6 because of her degrading brain condition. Accordingly, Katarina might pose as her replacement to join the team and infiltrate the task force.

Aside from Katarina's arc, it has also been hinted that Red's identity may finally be revealed for real. As per reports, the man who he was speaking with, during the last few moments of The Blacklist Season 6 after Dom spilled his "identity" to Liz, will return and play a huge part in the succeeding events. And it seems that he might just be the answer Liz is looking for.

NBC's The Blacklist Season 7 premieres this October 4.
