American Horror Story: 1984 is the latest installment of the FX's famous anthology series. The ninth season follows five friends from Los Angeles head to Camp Redwood to work as counselors. But when infamous killer "Mr. Jingles" escapes from prison, he returns to the camp to continue his massacre.

American Horror Story: 1984 will premiere on Wednesday, September 18, on FX. But for Netflix subscribers in the US and other regions, they need to wait for a little while before seeing the ninth season on the streaming platform.

American Horror Story is just one of the few remaining FX shows on Netflix. The franchise is expected to stay in the platform, as well as other Ryan Murphy shows since Netflix will reportedly continue to pay the licensing of AHS, American Crime Story, and POSE.

Just like the previous season, American Horror Story: 1984 is expected to drop September or October 2020 on the streaming platform, as reported by What's On Netflix. While the series is also available to watch on Amazon Prime and Hulu, they do not get any weekly episodes -- unlike Netflix.

For Netflix UK subscribers, they usually receive the latest installment just before the US. Thus, they can expect the arrival of the new season in September 2020. For subscribers in Mainland Europe and Asia, they should receive the latest installment in the fall of 2019 include. Unfortunately, Australia is far behind the release schedule, while AHS isn't available to stream in Canada.

Meanwhile, it was previously confirmed that Sarah Paulson would not be returning as series regular in season 9 after being part of all eight seasons. But during the premiere of Abominable at the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday, the actress teased she could make an appearance at some point in American Horror Story: 1984.

"I may pop up," Paulson told Entertainment Tonight.

She also said it's a "bittersweet" not to be involved in the series, especially since she still has a lot of friends working on the show. The actress revealed she's also getting some updates about the new season and what they're doing. Then, she once again teased her possible appearance on the upcoming installment.

"And you never know, I may pop up. You never know. No promises, though," Paulson teased.

American Horror Story: 1984 will feature alums John Carroll Lynch, Emma Roberts, Cody Fern, Billie Lourd, and Leslie Grossman. New cast members include Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy, Pose's Angelica Ross, Glee's Matthew Morrison, and DeRon Horton.
