NCIS season 17 is just weeks away, and the good news here is that Ziva David will return in the upcoming installment after being gone in the hit CBS crime procedural drama. And now, new photos from NCIS season 17 episode 2 featured Cote de Pablo's character meeting the new faces of the team: Ellie Bishop and Nick Torres.
After de Pablo's exit in the NCIS franchise, several new faces ended up joining the series - such as Emily Wickersham who joined as Ellie Bishop and Wilmer Valderrama as Nick Torres. Ziva never met these characters, but she will finally meet them in NCIS season 17 episode 2.
One of the photos from that episode featured Ziva first meeting Ellie. It seems like the two were discussing some serious matters - especially since Ellie was the first person who found out Ziva was still alive. There's a chance these two could build a friendship along the way, and Ellie would probably look Ziva as a mentor as well.
Ziva will also meet Nick in NCIS season 17 episode 2. The two could butt heads since both of them are strong-willed, but they could still be good friends. These two relate to each other because they had a history of being off the grid. They understand the danger that comes along with their job, and they also have some sort of action-hero status to them.
It's not surprising to know that de Pablo, Wickersham, and Valderrama will all be working in one of the episodes of NCIS season 17. Valderamma already teased some behind-the-scene moments on his Instagram last month featuring Ziva, along with other cast members and they have smiles on their faces.
The question now is: why is taking until the second episode for Ziva to meet Ellie and Nick? It's safe to say that it has something to do with the fact that de Pablo's character will be preoccupied in the premiere episode with staying alive and keeping Gibbs safe since there are people who are after them.
Ziva is also trying to keep her daughter a secret so that Tali would be safe from those who are trying to get her mother and Gibbs. Ziva didn't spend much time with Tali because she knows she's in danger and she wouldn't want her daughter to be in danger as well.
NCIS season 17 episode 2, titled "Into The Light," will air on Tuesday, October 1, on CBS.
