Miranda Lambert's husband Brendan McLoughlin may make a career out of protecting his wife, as reports hint that he's ready to leave his job as a police officer at the NYPD to be part of her security team.
According to a report by Hollywood Life, a source detailed that Brendan had fully intended to return to his job in the NYPD after things settled down after his surprise wedding to country star Miranda Lambert. However, he seems to have had a change of heart in recent months after he and his wife became inseparable.
"Brendan had every intention of spending time with Miranda after their wedding to just enjoy the honeymoon phase and then go back after her tour is done. But as time has gone on, Miranda and Brendan have become so inseparable and love spending as much time together as they can," the source was quoted.
The couple may opt to have Brendan as part of her security detail given his background in law enforcement. The source said though, that there had been no final decision about this matter as the newlyweds weigh their options.
In an interview, Sgt. Brendan Ryan, a spokesperson of the NYPD, confirmed that officer Brendan McLoughlin is on an official leave of absence. But, he did not indicate the length of his absence with the police force.
It can be recalled that the wedding of Pistol Annies singer Miranda Lambert and NYPD police officer Brendan McLoughlin took the entertainment industry by surprise when they made the announcement via social media.
According to a report by Us Magazine, the pair met while Brendan was on duty for the security of a Good Morning America episode in Times Square in November 2018. Miranda Lambert's Pistol Annies were set to perform for the show.
After dating for several months, the pair announced their marriage on Valentines' Day this year. It was revealed that Brendan and Miranda already got married after three months of dating in January 2019.
Miranda started showing off her new hubby on social media in April of 2019, in casual settings and red carpet galas and events to share with her fans how much fun she is having on her new adventure. She also talked about being a stepmom to Brendan's child, Landon.
According to Lambert, her stepson is amazing and that she feels ready to take on the role of a mother even though this is a whole new journey for her. She told her hubby that their family is already complete because they have each other, dogs and a kid.
