Peaky Blinders Season 5 just premiered a few weeks ago. But since every series installment houses only a total of six episodes, it is now reaching its penultimate episode for the season.
A lot has already happened by the order of the Peaky f***ing Blinders. And the fans have witnessed how the family's empire stood up from nowhere up to their current standing in the society of Birmingham. And while challenges have provoked the Shelby family in various ways, they were able to pull through.
There were a few casualties along the way, but it only made the series so much more compelling to binge-watch. And when the premiere of the fifth season happened, many critics praised the show for its "slick" arrival on BBC One.
BBC Entertainment has gathered all the apparent reviews about Peaky Blinders Season 5. And based on the general reception, the show's new season is seen as one of today's most-awaited premiere installments in the history of television.
Also, it has been largely pointed out how it became one of the shows who obtained an increasing trend in terms of its viewership records as seasons pass by. From having an average of 2.38 million viewers, the current season is now holding an average range of 5.9 million to 6.24 million viewers per episode. So, it only goes to show that Peaky Blinders is performing well over the years.
While these are all good news for the show, the fans are getting worried over the current events that are happening on the show's course. And as per Metro, many fans have noticed how Tommy Shelby is coughing a lot more than the usual.
His recurring cough started in the early installments. Although this is only logical considering the significant number of cigarettes that he smokes every day, a cough is only sensible.
But in Peaky Blinders Season 5, Cillian Murphy's Tommy is seen to experience a much worse condition in terms of his coughs. Therefore, most of the fandom is now convinced that this might be the thing that will kill him in the end.
Quite obviously, no one wants this to happen. And while it is highly likely, many have remained positive and hopeful. So, when the news about the show's renewal started to emerge, the majority of the viewers became even more confident about Tommy's future. Besides, two more seasons are now sealed for Peaky Blinders.
But whatever the case though, it is not impossible for Tommy Shelby to catch cigarette-smoking-related diseases in the future. And it will be iconic yet truly devastating when he catches same cancer that Tom Hardy's Alfie Solomon caught in the early seasons.
