The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is a remake of the classic Game Boy game released in 1993, and now we can see what the game looks like, thanks to a new trailer.

The remake has been overhauled for the Nintendo Switch, rolling in hot with updated characters that include a Princess Zelda look-alike, Tarin, Marin, a character that looks like Mario, and other Mario iconographies like Goombas and Chain Chomps.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening looks pretty different from the Game Boy version. Still, it recreates the original's the world, scenery, and even opening cutscenes almost one-to-one in a shiny new art style.

In the remake, our hero Link ends up on a mysterious island inhabited with odd but color creatures. To escape the island, Link is set to go on a journey that will see him collecting magical instruments and awaken the Wind Fish. Players get to explore Koholint Island that now appears with a brand-new art style. Numerous dungeons and hidden secrets are to be expected when going through the island. Link will retain some of his old weapons, but he will be seen with new stuff as well, such as Flippers, which will make him capable of swimming effortlessly across ponds, and the Power Bracelets, so our hero can lift heavy objects. Players get to collect items that will allow them to create their own dungeon using Chamber Dungeons. There are even mini-games for all like rafting, fishing, and a chance to win a Yoshi doll by playing a hand crane.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on September 20, the same day that both the Nintendo Switch Lite and the humorous Untitled Goose Game release. The game will be available in standard and limited editions.
