There is little doubt that the Four Horsemen will be back in Now You See Me 3. But, what are the chances that Henley Reeves will rejoin the team? There are speculations that Isla Fisher is finally ready to reprise her role in the third installment of the magic heist franchise. Unfortunately, this could mean that the new Horseman Lula May will be pushed aside for Henley's return.
Isla Fisher was first introduced as Henley Reeves in the first Now You See Me movie. Although the character seemed to have great chemistry with the rest of the Horsemen, Henley was nowhere to be seen in the second film. The character had to be written off after Fisher opted not to return for the sequel. As a result, Henley was only referenced briefly in the movie where it was explained that she had chosen to leave the Four Horsemen after she broke up with J. Daniel Atlas, who is played by Jesse Eisenberg.
People were understandably upset that Isla Fisher did not appear in Now You See Me 2. Some believed that the I Heart Huckabees star chose not to work on the sequel because of her near-death experience in the first film. However, it was confirmed that Fisher was unable to commit to the movie because of her pregnancy. This is why Lizzy Caplan was cast as the new Horseman Lula May.
But, is it possible that Isla Fisher is now ready to return to the caper franchise? There have been speculations that the Confessions of a Shopaholic actress is eager to revisit Henley Reeves in Now You See Me 3. However, Henley's comeback might not necessarily mean that Lula May will need to leave the Four Horsemen. It is possible that Henley will help the Horsemen and Dylan Rhodes Shrike as an independent member of the team.
For now, it has not yet been confirmed that Isla Fisher will return in Now You See Me 3. The Rise of the Guardians star is, currently, set to appear in the satire film Greed in November. In addition to that, Fisher is working on Blithe Spirit, a comedy that will also star Legion's Dan Stevens and the legendary Judi Dench.
Now You See Me 3 has not yet been given an official production start date or a release date. However, fans are already expecting an announcement about the sequel before the end of the year.
