Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres are, undeniably, among the Hollywood couples that have been eating rumors for breakfast. The two are often surrounded by divorce news since they got married in 2008. However, 11 years have passed, their relationship remains strong. Recent reports claimed the 46-year-old actress is leaving her partner over her famed talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Multiple tabloid reports claim de Rossi and DeGeneres are heading for divorce. In fact, the year started with the news the Australian model is already leaving the 61-year-old comedian for defending Kevin Hart on her talk show.
To recall, DeGeneres came to Hart's defense after he got criticized for the homophobic tweets he made a couple of years ago. This resulted in Hart losing his hosting gig at the 2019 Oscars. The famed television presenter tackled the issue on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and asked fans to forgive him.
Allegedly, de Rossi felt disgusted with what DeGeneres did. However, to shut down the rumors, the known philanthropist shared a photo of them on Instagram, displaying major PDA while holding hands on a horseback riding. She even appeared on her show after the controversy.
A couple of months later, the pair faced another marriage crisis rumor. Allegedly, DeGeneres refused to retire from her hosting gig. They are, reportedly, fighting over The Ellen DeGeneres Show as de Rossi wants her to quit, but she won't.
A questionable source revealed the two seem to be always on "the verge of breakup." In fact, most of their friends are starting to question how they manage to stay married amidst all the fights.
Gossip Cop cleared there is no truth in these stories. The fight over the show was only made up after DeGeneres revealed de Rossi wanted her to leave the show, but it never caused them any marital problems.
DeGeneres has been a household name; thanks to some decades of her stint on television, including the long-running talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show. However, she told The New York Times in December 2018 she had no plans to talk to guests on TV forever.
DeGeneres has extended her contract to stay on the show until the summer of 2020, but what would happen after that remains to be a question. She even admitted she would often "go back and forth" whether she would continue with the show, which started in 2003. If she ever decides to leave, she also revealed her wife, de Rossi, would surely be happy.
