Executive producer Matt Thompson already announced the coming of Archer Season 11 at the recent 2019 Comic-Con panel, along with the revelation that Archer (voiced by H. Jon Benjamin) is already awake. Now that the show is back to its original timeline and Archer is ready to make a comeback, how things will change in the new season?

Thompson told the crowd that the show would return to its original spy theme in the upcoming Archer Season 11. In the last five minutes of the series' latest season finale, Archer was seen fighting against Barry in space. However, as their battle continued, Archer's space exploded. From here, a montage of highlights from its first seven seasons began.

At the end of it, Archer finally woke up. He was back in the hospital where Season 7 ended. Fans learned Archer is still alive and his mother, Mallory (Jessica Walter), was with on his bedside all along. From here, Archer Season 11 would continue.

In a statement, via IndieWire, another executive producer Casey Willis said they are also excited for the Archer Season 11. They are all looking forward to seeing Archer waking up from his coma and returning to his spy activities.

For the past three seasons, the show had explored different genres while Archer was still in a coma. Now that the show would return to its main timeline, it is a big question what made its executive producers decide to do so.

Willis revealed it would be an exciting sight to see Archer waking up to a world that has moved on without him in Archer Season 11. After they learned what's important to Archer in the middle of his coma, they wanted to see how he would react when he returned to the real world.

In Archer Season 11, Archer would return home only to find out that everything has changed, per Entertainment Weekly. As the executive producers already got tired of telling a "mission-of-the-week story," things would feel new come the new season.

Thompson revealed the show would return to the New York agency in the "same non-distinct time period." However, the office's personalities and situation already changed. Not only that, Archer would be "physically and mentally" not what he used to be. After being in a coma for three years, they teased he would find it hard to walk that they would give them a "Tacti-cane."

Thompson added Archer would feel lost in Archer Season 11. The only person who would show care is Pam (Amber Nash), while everybody else would treat him like an "afterthought." "He's not what he was, and he's actually making them worse at their jobs," he said. Willis continued to say Archer couldn't understand how they managed to move on without him, believing he's the center of the universe.
