Also, First Gentleman Henry (Tim Daly) squirms after his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert leads in heightened scrutiny of his marriage. As for other sources of conflicts, the imminent Madam Secretary season 6 will also see Elizabeth facing more problems than ever.
While most people want her administration to succeed, there are still some out there who are rooting for her to fail in Madam Secretary season 6. Being the new POTUS, she needs to deal with the stubborn parts of government, regulations, other countries, as well as diplomatic relationships.
Meanwhile, Wentworth Miller will be a recurring character in Madam Secretary season 6, and he'll be playing the role of Senator Mark Hanson. In a report via TVLine, the actor's role is described as "a ruthless politician who hates the fact that Elizabeth McCord has been elected president."
Another new face joining the series' final run is Michael Patrick Thornton. The actor will also have a recurring role in Madam Secretary season 6, where he'll play Captain Evan Moore, chief of staff to First Gentleman Henry McCord. Also, Kevin Rahm has been promoted to series regular as well.
While Madam Secretary season 6 introduces new characters, Evan Roe, Keith Carradine, Kathrine Herzer, Sara Ramirez, Geoffrey Arend, and Sebastian Arcelus will no longer be series regular in the final season.
Madam Secretary season 6 will premiere on Sunday, October 6, on CBS.
