Grey's Anatomy Season 16 may have yet to unveil its premiere episode, but what will happen on its second episode already emerged. By the looks of it, the producers will stick to explore the previous season's unexpected twist that surprises the many.

"The Grey Sloan doctors operate on a man who crashed into Maggie's (Kelly McCreary) car as Owen (Kevin McKidd), back from paternity leave, struggles with Tom's (Greg Germann) new position. Outside the hospital, Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) recent firing doesn't stop her from diagnosing those around her." "Back in the Saddle" official synopsis read. "Richard and Alex start anew, and it's not easy. All the while, Jo readies herself to return to work, and Amelia has a new revelation in her relationship with Link."

Some fans believe the series would revise the status of Meredith, Alex (Justin Chambers), and Richard (James Pickens Jr.) at the hospital. However, everyone will try to move forward after what happened.

According to CarterMatt, Grey's Anatomy Season 16 Episode 2 will feature most of the characters away from the hospital. Meredith, Alex, and Richard are now jobless. Jo (Camilla Luddington) has been undergoing treatment after what she went through, Teddy (Kim Raver) just had a baby, and Owen is on paternity leave. The show is also about to address what happened to Jackson (Jesse Williams), as his future remains to be a big mystery.

In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Krista Vernoff revealed Meredith would experience the aftermath of what happened after she broke the law and got fired in the previous season finale. In the trailer, Pompeo's character can be seen doing community service, picking up trash on the side of the road. Unfortunately, things may not work out just fine in her first task.

The trailer also hints the threatening outcome of Jackson's disappearance. However, this may only be bait after Williams renewed his contract to do the show for two more years.

Ahead of Grey's Anatomy Season 16 Episode 2's release, everything will begin where the previous season finale left off. Meredith, Richard, and Alex's pink slips, Andrew's (Giacomo Gianniotti) prison orange clothes, and Jackson's disappearance will be explored. The premiere episode is set to be out on Thursday, Sept. 26, followed by "Back in the Saddle" on Oct. 3 on ABC.
