A week after Season 3 ended, fans are now reeling for Snowfall Season 4. The show has maintained its great storytelling despite creator and showrunner John Singleton's demise. As the series continues, viewers can expect to see the intense turn of events of Franklin's story (Damson Idris).
In Season 3's penultimate episode, Franklin tried hard to cover up his murder of Andre (Marcus Henderson). Although he managed to silence Herb (Jesse Luken), his daughter, Melody (Reign Edwards), was still trying to make everyone believe his father didn't commit suicide. As Franklin had reached the lowest point of his life, he figured out the most recent crimes he did.
In an interview with the New York Post, co-creator Dave Andron said part of the story they wanted to tell in the series is how nobody knew how bad it would get. Snowfall Season 4 would push the series deeper into the last part of the 1980s, which is the time when the aftermath of the accessible crack cocaine gets worse.
"It was just a complete plague and a scourge," Andron added. "Part of what I don't even think I understood when we started the show was what a massive turning point crack was for African-American communities. It wiped out a generation."
So, after the Season 3 finale, when Snowfall Season 4 will be out? FX has yet to announce when the show is going to be released, but, according to CarterMatt, there is a big possibility the new season is set for release in the summer of 2020.
FX may have no reason to change the series' usual release date. So, it may once again be seen hitting the small screens in July, just like the previous three seasons. The show is said to be performing well in the said schedule and even gets some noise and praises for its theme.
However, with Singleton's demise, will Snowfall Season 4 be its final installment? Will Franklin's story still go beyond and be renewed for Season 5? There may still be more time and opportunity for the show to continue. Hence, it may again run for a couple of years.
But, the decision will still depend on the network, its creative team, and cast. Also, ratings will play a significant role in the continuation of the series. So, fans still have to wait and see how Snowfall Season 4 will perform when it is out in the summer of 2020 on FX.
