After Season 6 ended with a major cliffhanger, The Blacklist Season 7 premiere episode is one of the most anticipated ever. After Red (James Spader) got abducted by Katarina (Lotte Verbeek) and Liz (Megan Boone) had no idea about his whereabouts, it is a big mystery what would happen to the criminal mastermind.
"After being abducted by Katarina Rostova, Raymond 'Red' Reddington finds himself alone in hostile territory unsure of who, if anyone, he can trust," The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 1 official synopsis read. "With few leads to go on, Liz and the Task Force venture into unknown danger as they race to find him."
By the looks of it, Katarina is maybe the new villain of the season. Although she is Liz's mother, she is known for being ruthless, determined, and good at hiding. Fans can't even deny she is one of the most noteworthy baddies in the series.
Katarina has her own plan, and it may be revealed in The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 1. As the premiere episode bears the title "Louis T. Steinhill," according to CarterMatt, the new season may use the Blacklisters under any circumstances or conditions. Hence, there may be a "Katarina Rostova" episode coming, as she is maybe on the top of the Blacklist with her importance to the show's mythology.
Red, on the other hand, may become desperate to find an ally in a world where he is not sure if he can still trust anyone. He may spend his time to seek some answers or information about Katarina, but he may never find it out without the help of Liz or the Task Force.
In the new season's trailer, it revealed Red is in hostile territory, and his closely-guarded secrets would be "tested by old enemies and new allies." His former adversaries would surround him, but he would also have new allies that may help him along the way, per Deadline.
Red has to make sure he is one step ahead of the "Blacklist's most dangerous criminal," who will do everything to reveal the truth that he wants no one to know about. Katarina will try to be a part of Liz's life again to know about Red's secret. Her arrival will put Liz on the line and change her relationship with Red forever. The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 1, "Louis T. Steinhill," is set to be out on Friday, Oct. 4, on NBC.
