Ryan Murphy's long-running anthology is returning this week. American Horror Story: 1984 will have a brand new storyline, which means new characters are also expected this season. Keep reading to know who from the previous seasons will return in the new installment and who are the new faces that viewers will be tuning in.
Emma Roberts, who starred in four other seasons of AHS, will return and will be portraying the lead character, Brooke Thompson. Brooke is described as a timid girl and one of the core group of friends heading to Camp Redwood to serve as the new counselors.
Billie Lourd will also return. She plays Montana Duke, who is also one of Camp Redwood's counselors like Brooke. She is the rebel in the group as she rocks a bleached blonde hair and rocker-inspired get up.
AHS Season 8 star Cody Fern will also be making a comeback in a different character. His character, Xavier Plympton, convinces his friends to leave Los Angeles and join him in working at the Camp Redwood. In the group, Xavier has in-depth knowledge about the camp's scary history, but this doesn't stop him and his friends to have a good time.
Olympic medalist Gus Kenworthy will dip his toes in horror and debut in American Horror Story: 1984 as Chet Clancy. Chet is the stereotypical jock type boyfriend of Brooke. He joins Brooke and his friends in working at Camp Redwood for the summer.
Deron Horton will also be making his AHS debut this season. He will play Ray Powell, the last one in the new group of counselors at the camp.
Angelica Ross plays the role of nurse Rita of Camp Redwood. In American Horror Story: 1984 story, Xavier hits someone with his car while driving to the camp with his friends. The group will take the victim to Rita as soon as they arrive at the camp.
Leslie Grossman is also back this season and will play the role of Margaret Booth. She is the head counselor at Camp Redwood and very much aware of the place history but chooses to hide it to maintain the camp's reputation.
Finally, John Carroll Lynch. He is back in a villain role in AHS but this time around as Mr. Jingles. The AHS: 1984 teaser reveals that Mr. Jingles committed a massacre in the past. He escapes from an institution and makes his way back to Camp Redwood to hunt new victims.
More supporting characters will be introduced in the ninth season. American Horror Story: 1984 is set to premiere on September 18 at 10/9c on FX.
