Ku Hye Sun has finally given her fans an update about her well-being amidst her recent high-publicized split from his husband, Ahn Jae Hyun. The actress revealed that she is still in the hospital after she underwent surgery.
Last month, the Boys Over Flower actress announced that she had been admitted to the hospital following polyp removal surgery. Hye Sun has been hospitalized for about three weeks now and hasn't been discharged by her doctor. This made some Korean netizens skeptic about her words.
Some pointed out that polyp removal is a minor medical procedure, and the patient usually gets discharged in a day or two. One mentioned that polyps only require surgery if the abnormal tissue is too big, but still, the patient could be discharged on the same day. Others called the actress "attention seeker" and has been trying to get sympathy to sell her book.
"She said 'since the summer.' That sounds like it could have been months. But there's no way polyps can tie you down that long. Seeing from her past uploads... I think she likes to say things in a really ambiguous way to give it an extra twist or overemphasize it," another wrote.
Meanwhile, Hye Sun also gave an update about her book in her latest Instagram post. The actress shared a photo of her hand with an IV connected on it while reading her new book, titled You Are My Pet. She also revealed in another post that she would be submitting her piece titled "World without you is void" to Art Fair Singapore in November.
A promotional event for the book is scheduled to take place early next month. However, Hye Sun's publisher said she might not be able to attend the event.
Hye Sun is, currently, embroiled in a messy marital dispute with Jae Hyun. Earlier this month, Hye Sun's lawyer announced that the actress will be taking a hiatus from the entertainment industry and is planning to continue her studies in college.
When asked about the divorce, Hye Sun's lawyer said the actress still wants to continue her marriage. Hye Sun earlier said she could not divorce her husband because of their cat custody issues.
On the other hand, Jae Hyun's lawyer has, recently, announced that The Beauty Inside actor would be filing a divorce lawsuit against his wife soon. The actor, recently, turned down the offer to return on New Journey to the West 7. Jae Hyun has been a regular cast member of the show since 2016.
