While Shameless season 10 is still a month away, the recently released promo of the upcoming installment featured the early days of the Gallagher family.
Shameless season 10 promo showed some flashbacks scenes when most members of the Gallagher family were still young, but already a dysfunctional family. The clip teased that the series will continue to feature comedy, as well as chaos within this family.
In Shameless season 10, some of the characters will try to determine the lessons they've learned from the past to move forward in the future. For instance, Lip is entering a new phase of his life now that he's a father. The question here is: how is he going to handle this responsibility?
While he could try not to act like Frank and be there for his child and give his own family a reason to look forward in the future, Lip's childhood is full of struggles, fear, and chaos. So, raising his child wouldn't be easy for him, especially since Frank is around. But, executive producer John Wells said Lip desperately wants to be a good father.
Meanwhile, Debbie could be one of the main focus in Shameless season 10. She will be taking over the role of Fiona, played by Emmy Rossum. It seems like Debbie is particularly strict when it comes to the allowance of the family; giving them an ATM card with a certain amount of money on it. Fiona left her $50,000 to help keep the struggling family.
The way Debbie handles the Gallaghers is ruthless; she doesn't have any choice but to do this strategy. She realized that, when nothing is working during desperate times, she needs to implement somewhat desperate measures. But, Wells also teased Debbie will enjoy her power being the new holder of the purse.
Cameron Monaghan, on the other hand, will have a full-time return in the new season since his character is now a free man. Viewers will see Ian Gallagher and his boyfriend Mickey (Noel Fisher) more often since the latter will also return in the latest installment with a significant role.
Frank will also fake his condition even though his broken leg has healed. According to Wells, the Gallagher dad does not want the doctors to believe he's recovered so that they will continue prescribing him pain medications.
Shameless season 10 will premiere on Sunday, November 10 at 9/8c on Showtime.
