Kingsman 3 is raring to begin production sometime in the next few months. Writer and director Matthew Vaughn will be back at the helm of this third movie following 2014's Kingsman: The Secret Service and 2017's Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Vaughn hinted about the start of the production for Kingman 3 in an interview with The Playlist. He also said that the third movie should be in theaters in 2021 yet he's tight-lipped about what the next installment will be about.

The writer-director, however, is teasing that Kingsman 3 will "freak out" fans of the franchise either in a good or bad way. The script is currently being polished with co-writer Jane Goldman, but Vaughn told fans to "expect the unexpected" since he is quite sure that no one will see what's coming.

In another interview with Digital Spy, Vaughn said that Kingsman 3 would wrap up the relationship between Eggsy (played by Taron Egerton) and Harry (played by Colin Firth) since it is their final chapter. Egerton has expressed that he's raring to return to filming this spy film and play Eggsy again because the role is a lot less draining to play than his other movies. Incidentally, Egerton and Vaughn recently worked together in the Elton John biopic Rocketman.

Kingsman 3 was originally planned for a November 2019 theater release. Vaughn had been developing the third movie while doing the second film in two years ago with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the potential villain. By 2018, however, Vaughn announced that its production would proceed after they completed filming the prequel, The King's Man, which will be in theaters in February 2020.

Meanwhile, the writer-director said, in an interview, with IGN that the upcoming prequel will take place more than a century before the events of the first movie. The King's Man is supposed to detail the origins of the first independent spy group in the world, and it will open a new timeline for the franchise.

Starring Ralph Fiennes as the Duke of Oxford and Harris Dickinson as his son Conrad, a 17-year-old aristocrat, The King's Man will explore a different kind of father-son dynamics that has been anchored for much of the franchise. The prequel will show that the first members of this spy organization belong to one household, but there will be plenty of surprises, including the appearance of a historical character like Rasputin (played by Rhys Ifans).

The King's Man is out in theaters by Feb. 14, 2020. Kingsman 3, on the other hand, might have a late 2021 release.
