The dark comedy series Imposters season 3, which features actress Inbar Lavi in the lead, will no longer be returning on the air. The show was also accessible on Netflix, but its renewal is not up to the streaming platform.

In June 2018, Bravo announced that it wouldn't renew Imposters season 3. According to Deadline, the second season's ratings dropped sharply compared to its first season, which averaged 1.4 total million viewers per episode. Thus, the final episode set for airing that same month was also considered as the series finale.

In a report on The Hollywood Reporter, the cancellation of Imposters season 3 was not due to its ratings alone. Bravo had plans of re-adjusting its programming to simply retain just one of its scripted series, which was Dirty John

Imposters was originally created by Universal Cable Productions (UCP) for Bravo under the NBC Entertainment banner. With Bravo's decision to shift its programming, UCP had high hopes that it could convince Netflix to take on Imposters season 3.

The Hollywood Reporter cited that Imposters season 1 on Netflix did quite well in terms of viewership. Thus, Bravo also hoped that the online streaming site would be able to continue the series better than what the cable network has done since Bravo is more known for its reality TV format than scripted programs.

The abrupt cancellation of Imposters season 3 had fans opening an online petition for Netflix to take on the series. As of press time, this petition remains active and has received over 28,000 in signatures.

However, a year since the cancellation and Netflix has not signaled its interest to continue with Imposters season 3. Had it been keen on having the rights to the series, it would have announced the renewal early on.

Meanwhile, the stars of Imposters season 3 have been released from their contracts and are now busy with different projects since the show folded up. Lavi is in the cast of Lucifer season 5, which will also stream on Netflix, while Paul Adelstein, who is Imposters co-creator, is the new addition in Chicago P.D. season 7.

Rob Heaps, on the other hand, has Dare Me, an upcoming show on USA Network, which is set to air in 2020. Parker Young and Stephen Bishop are also working on various movie projects.

Imposters follows the story of a female con artist who becomes romantically involved with her victims, both men and women. Adam Brooks co-created the series with Adelstein.
