Black Lightning Season 3 has officially begun, and it managed to change the family's status quo in just one episode. Now in Episode 2, fans are about to see the Pierces going to different directions as Freeland goes under occupation.
"With Freeland under full-blown occupation, the Pierce family gets pulled in different directions. Jefferson (Cress Williams) and Lynn (Christine Adams) find themselves at odds with each other," Black Lightning Season 3 Episode 2 official synopsis read. "Meanwhile, Anissa (Nafessa Williams) rebels as Blackbird while Jennifer (China Anne McClain) feels powerless despite having powers."
A lot is about to happen in the second episode. There is a problem brewing between Jefferson and Lynn, Anissa's rebellion, and Jennifer is feeling powerless. Aside from the official synopsis, The CW also dropped the new episode's set photos, via KSiteTV, to give a glimpse of what is going to happen in the second episode.
The snaps feature James Remar as Gambi, Christopher B. Duncan as Commander Williams, and Damon Gupton as Inspector Bill Henderson. Also, Crystal Lee Brown is seen as Sergeant King and China Anne McClain as Jennifer in Black Lightning Season 3 Episode 2.
Meanwhile, the premiere episode set a new status quo for the Pierce family and Freeland's citizens, per ComicBook. It also featured an unexpected twist on a lot of loose ends the previous season left. It mostly revolved around Tobias Whale (Marvin "Krondon" Jones III) despite being locked in a metahuman prison in Season 2 finale.
As Agent Odell (Bill Duke) was psychologically torturing Tobias to know what was inside his mysterious briefcase, it revealed his real condition that his metahuman powers were wearing off. He was also aging at an alarming rate, making him dying of old age.
To recall, Tobias took a longevity serum that allowed him to live for a long time and develop super strength. So, as he has been in the metahuman prison for more than a month and wearing the anti-meta human collar all the while, it only means he is starting losing his superpowers.
Although it remains to be seen what will happen to Tobias as the show runs, it looks like his time is already ticking. Black Lightning Season 3 Episode 2, "The Book of Occupation: Chapter Two," is set to be out on Monday, Oct. 14, on The CW.
