It has not been too long since BTS V or Kim Taehyung broke SoundCloud records for being the only Kpop artist to have four of his solo songs surpass 45 million streams. Now, he is setting yet another record on the music platform.
Kim Taehyung proved that he is the ruler of SoundCloud when he made history by having five of his songs in the Top 10 most listened to songs by BTS.
According to All Kpop, BTS V was the only member who had three of his individual songs on the list. He also had two covers to take on half of the BTS' Most Listened To chart.
Kim Taehyung's Scenery entered the list at No. 2 with 151, 225, 000 streams followed by Winter Bear with 76,042,000 streams. He also took fourth place with 4'o'clock, his collaboration with BTS' RM, which is the longest-charting BTS song on the list.
V's cover of Adele's Someone Like You entered the list at 9th place with 16,537,000 streams. Rounding off the Top 10 is his collaboration with J-Hope to cover Hug Me, which has 16, 442,642 streams.
The Top 10 Most Listened To songs by BTS on SoundCloud is interestingly made up mostly of the members' solo releases. The list is topped by Jimin's Promise with 189,235,000 streams, Jungkook's Ending Scene 1 and 2 at 5th and 8th place, Ddaeng by BTS' rap line and Jin's Tonight.
V is enjoying great success on SoundCloud, given his talent for writing and performing songs as part of BTS and as an individual artist.
Kim Taehyung's first solo release Scenery, actually, became the fastest song to reach 100 million streams on SoundCloud when it came out earlier in the year. Winter Bear, BTS V's first full English song, which he composed, produced, and performed, also entered the list of BTS' top hits on SoundCloud.
V also released a surprise music video for Winter Bear, which he shot and directed. The MV chronicled behind the scenes events of his travels and photography projects, which earned him the approval of fans around the world.
Kim Taehyung is also building his reputation as a songwriter. He is currently recognized by Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) with eight songs to his name as a lyricist and composer. He is also the only member of BTS who has written the lyrics of a song completely in English, a separate report by All Kpop said.
