Prodigal Son episode 4 will air next week, and there will be some questions and mysteries within this episode. Here's what we can expect in the upcoming episode, titled "Designer Complicity."
In Prodigal Son episode 4, the childhood memories of Malcolm will start to take shape. He'll eventually realize that his father's killing spree isn't a surprise to everyone in his family. As he continues investigating his past, a famous model and social media influencer were murdered. This prompts him, JT, Dani, and Gil on the hunt for a stalker who has a creepy eye for design.
Entering the new episode, we're going to witness Malcolm's odd childhood and his difficulties from the pas. The series is a crime procedural drama with a complicated father-son relationship at its core. So, in Prodigal Son episode 4, Malcolm's past with his father will be further explored, as well as the things that he's been through.
In another related report, FOX handed a full-season order of the series, bringing a total of 22 episodes on its freshman run. Prodigal Son stars The Walking Dead alum Tom Payne as Malcolm Bright, a profiler for the NYPD but also the son of infamous serial killer Martin Whitly (Michael Sheen). While helping the NYPD investigating murders, he also needs to deal with the psychological impact of reuniting with his father.
Perhaps, the strength of the series comes through its duality; exploring the main character's past and throwing case-of-the-week stories that were somehow different from other procedural crime drama series. This, along with powerful cast members, could likely keep the series for a long time. So far, the series has good ratings following its premiere last month.
Prodigal Son premiered to a 1.0 demo rating and a total of 4 million viewers; making it as the Premiere Week's top-rated new program, then the rating held steady in Week 2. With Live+3 DVR playback factored in, these numbers increased by 50 percent. The series also ranked second-highest grade out of 13 series launches in TVLine's premiere week polling.
Other cast members include Lou Diamond Phillips as Gil Arroyo, Halston Sage as Ainsley Whitly, Aurora Perrineau as Det. Dani Powell, Frank Harts as Det. JT Tarmel, Keiko Agena as Dr. Edrisa Tanaka, and Bellamy Young as Jessica Whitly. Jennifer Lence and Jason Sokoloff serve as producers, while Lee Toland Krieger, Sarah Schechter, Sam Sklaver, Chris Fedak, and Greg Berlanti serve as executive producers.
Prodigal Son episode 4 will air on Monday, October 14, on FOX.
