NCIS will return to its original theme in the upcoming episode. It will once again feature the balance between a dangerous mission and the fun antics of its cast. In Episode 4, it will touch the pressing story of homeless veterans, while trying to make it light by featuring the comedic side of the member of the federal agency.

"The NCIS team links a bizarre crime scene at Arlington National Cemetery to a string of attacks on homeless veterans," NCIS Season 17 Episode 4 official synopsis read. "Also, Vance (Rocky Carroll) orders McGee (Sean Murray), Bishop (Emily Wickersham), and Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) to complete hours of evidence garage cleanup duty for withholding information."

In the behind-the-scenes photos, according to Cartermatt, "Someone Else's Shoes" will be an emotional episode. It will also be in time for featuring homeless veterans amidst the growing number of homeless people today. Unfortunately, some of them are the people who used to serve the country at an early age.

As the NCIS is known for shining light on often-overlooked social issues, this might be its way to help these people and encourage viewers to do their part. By the end of NCIS Season 17 Episode 4, it may feature a storyline that would be all about the group doing their part to care for a community that is also often ignored.

On the other hand, the punishment of McGee, Bishop, and Torres may have something to do with the information they have about Ziva (Cote de Pablo). This may be Vance's way to keep these three to follow his orders. It may also be their way to inform their boss as to what is going on around them.

NCIS Season 17 Episode 4 may be the first episode that fans are not going to see Ziva as a big part of the story. However, she may be a part of the storyline to a certain degree because of McGee, Bishop, and Torres.

Episode 3 didn't also feature the former Israeli Mossad officer either, although she was still mentioned, and her presence was very much felt. NCIS Season 17 Episode 4, "Someone Else's Shoes," is set to be out on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 8-9 p.m. ET/PT on the CBS Television Network.
