BTS V just proved his Midas Touch once again when it comes to selling out his merchandise. Three items from Kim Taehyung's line was sold out in record time for the final leg of BTS' Speak Yourself tour.
Based on the Weply website, BTS V's image picket, keyring, and mini flag were the fastest items to sell out among all the products from BTS members.
BTS V or Kim Taehyung has proven, time and again, his selling power both for luxury brands and affordable merchandise. Last September 13, Visit Seoul announced its partnership with the Kpop group, where V was assigned with the Get Away concept.
Upon the release of the Global Kings video, V's charms caused ARMYs research on the Fear of Gold plaid robe that he was wearing for the advertisement. As a result, ARMYs found the clothing brand and the specific item online and sold out the robe in record time. The item was counted as a luxury brand with prices ranging from USD 900-2000 but fans did not seem to mind the price as they bought out all stocks in all sizes where it was available, All Kpop reported.
In BTS' partnership with Mattel, BTS V dolls were also the first to be sold out globally. While all the BTS dolls were released at the same time, Kim Taehyung's version was the most difficult to find as V stans quickly bought the entire supply in record time.
It was a similar tale for V's Eau de Musk perfume, which was already sold out before it was officially released in the market owing to the volume of pre-orders from official sellers. According to some fans who shared their accounts on social media, the perfume was sold out by the time the 20th person in line was served. The fan said that there were three shelves devoted to the product that was all gone in the space of a few minutes. The products were also sold out both online and physical stores worldwide.
BTS V's toys are also the bestsellers in fan cafes in Japan, reaching No. 1 status in sales when he recorded 40 million yen.
It can be recalled that the Korean company, Ccnmade, has also reported a record number of sold-out items because of V's support. The products are intended to generate funds to support children with heart diseases and animals in need, Straits Times reported.
Touted as the Prince Charming of Kpop, V also harnessed the biggest fanbase for an individual Kpop artist in Russia's Deerzone Top 100 chart and broke several records on SoundCloud.
