Sony officially announced that PS5 will be released in the Holiday of 2020. Interestingly, a new patent for the PlayStation VR has surfaced recently, suggesting the possibility of it being the VR kit of PlayStation 5. The newly discovered kit comes with extra cameras on the motion controller and wired connectivity to name a few.

The news about the alleged PlayStation 5 VR Kit stems from LetsGoDigital. This is the same site that previously uncovered the PlayStation 5 Dev kit. The newly discovered patent comes with an image of both the motion controller and the headset for the PlayStation VR.

The image also shows that the alleged PlayStation VR headset has four cameras. Two of the cameras are positioned in front, and the other two are located at the back. There is also one extra camera set on the new motion controller.

This camera located on the controller will allow users to get a stereoscopic view while letting him view the environment around him easily. What makes this more interesting is the possibility that this controller could also feature the new haptic feedback that Sony recently confirmed for the controller of PlayStation 5. This is just a possibility, but the likelihood of seeing one soon is high.

The most important addition to the alleged PlayStation 5 VR kit is the wireless connectivity. It comes with Bluetooth that will enable users to wirelessly connect while minimizing the messy wires. It also provides the user with more free space to move.

It can be recalled that the first-ever rumor about the PlayStation 5 claimed that Sony will make the PSVR an important component of its next-generation gaming console. A few months ago, Global Head Of Research And Development For PlayStation, Dominic Mallinson shared that he did not want gamers to be bombed with several new pieces of hardware all at the same time. The head of research added that from the consumer's point of view, bombarding consumers with a lot of things to buy is something that they do not want to happen.

Many fans assumed that Mallinson's statement is a clear message that the alleged PlayStation VR kit will not be released. However, it is possible that Sony's global head for R&D is simply telling us that the PlayStation VR kit will not be released alongside the PlayStation 5. Remember the rumors that Sony will release the PS5 along with PS5 Pro?

Between now and 2020, we will hear more leaks, speculations, rumors, and official announcements about the PlayStation 5. We just want to remind you to be careful with the leaks and be skeptical about them.
