A fresh set of photos showing the Tesla Model Y was recently reported online by MotorTrend. The photos reveal what the electric vehicle maker has been up to with its crossover vehicle. Aside from what Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed during the reveal, we have heard little about the company's crossover vehicle, until today.
MotorTrend recently shared the latest photos of Tesla Model Y. According to the site, these photos were captured by the neighbor residing near the Tesla office in Palo Alto, California. The eagle-eyed neighbor spotted the all-black Tesla vehicle, presumably the Tesla Model Y, which is probably out for a test run.
There is one photo showing the alleged Tesla Model Y turning left from Arastradero Road and going to Purisma Road. The driver and the person on the passenger side are presumably Tesla engineers, which appears to be consumed by the data shown on the unseen computer display. The next images are taken from afar position and reveal the same vehicle getting into the parking lot of the company.
The latest Tesla Model Y photos give us a better look at the model that we have seen during the unveiling. Interestingly, there are some changes in the latest version of the crossover EV. It essentially appears to be a taller version of Tesla Model 3, which suggests that the two EV might be sharing some components and body panels.
The rear diffuser of the alleged Tesla Model Y appears to be a new design. The Dual Motor badge, located on the trunk, is also visible against the all-black paint. Noticeably, the red brake calipers are lacking, which could only mean that the Tesla Model Y in the photos is being tested for the Long Range AWD version, rated at 280 miles per charge. There are also black door handles, contrasting the chrome units seen in Tesla Model 3.
Based on the photos, it looks like the Tesla Model Y is not that ready yet for the mainstream. The window trim appears to be inconsistent, and according to MotorTrend, there is still a wavered alignment between the bumper and the front of the hood. Meanwhile, Elon Musk recently confirmed that the Tesla pickup truck is still on its way to its scheduled unveiling. The Tesla Chief Executive Officer confirmed this on his Twitter account when he answered the question of one of his followers.
Tesla is working on a lot of projects, and we are hoping we could see them before the year ends.
