Plagued by injuries and bogged down by a string of defeats, it's not hard to imagine that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's days at the Old Trafford could soon come to an end. However, the Red Devils boss continues to fight hard to keep his job and it seemed he has plotted the ways for Manchester United to trust him still.

Solskjaer has already made known his intention to rebuild United following the departure of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez last summer. He has a wish list of players the club must attract to be in contention again.

Mainly, there are six players that Solskjaer is targeting and the names have been submitted to United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, Metro reported.

"Solskjaer, along with his assistant Mike Phelan and scout Jim Lawlor, have proposed six potential signings to Woodward ahead of the upcoming transfer window," the report said.

Believed to be part of the list Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, who according to Express is said to be a target for acquisition in the coming January transfer. There were talks that getting Dembele from Lyon is a matter of urgency, but it looked like the Red Devils are willing to wait if only to cut down on the player's asking price of £71 million.

Also on the list is Ivan Rakitic, who the United manager is looking to lure away from Barcelona, and needless to say, such a move will require an exorbitant cost.

Another potential transfer target is Mario Madzukic of Juventus, and reports have been circulating that the English club is already locked in a verbal agreement for the acquisition of the Croatian forward.

All these transfer plans are likely set for implementation starting the New Year of 2020, but reports said United is being patient on its rebuilding efforts. It seemed the prefer timing to ramp up recruitment in the summer of next year.

Apart from beefing up the Red Devils lineup, Solskjaer knew that to win merit from the United higher-ups, he has to show results. So for better job security, Fox Sports said the Norwegian need to lead United to a respectable finish in the Premier League.

Respectable is defined as a top-six finish, and this Solskjaer has to manage to impress those who have the power to fire him.

Now most importantly, the United manager must win a title next season as the lack of trophy under his name will not give him an assurance that the club executive and owners will remain supportive of the Solskjaer game plan.
