What are the chances that Manchester United will defeat the visiting Liverpool at Old Trafford this coming Sunday? Huge, in fact, because the Red Devils are slated to welcome back four key players, which should be enough for team boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to reverse the club's sliding fortune.
Solskjaer is set to face the surging Liverpool, but he can turn the tide and arrest the latter's winning streak with the help of major Reds back into club form, reports said.
"Paul Pogba, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Luke Shaw are all set to return for the Old Trafford clash," The Mirror reported, hinting too that another player could be joining the effort to keep United in contention at the Premier League.
That fourth enforcement that Solskjaer badly needs is Anthony Martial, who according to BBC has been tagged fit to resume training. Martial suffered hamstring injury early into the season and has already skipped eight games.
"Manchester United forward Anthony Martial will return to training this week, raising hopes he could be fit to face rivals, Liverpool ... Providing the 23-year-old France international suffers no reaction, he will come into contention to face Jurgen Klopp's league leaders," said the BBC report.
The return by Martial will allow Solskjaer to fill the void created by the summer departure of key Red Devils, led by Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez. Specifically, the French forward will assume the role number nine for United.
Though it remains unconfirmed, the four Reds reporting for active duty on Sunday will serve a big boost to the seemingly sagging campaign by United under the leadership of the club's Norwegian manager.
The most notable contribution could come from Martial, whose first few games in the season saw him scoring two games. Pogba getting back to shape again, could fire up the Reds' chances of defeating the league-leader Liverpool.
However, Liverpool will play at Old Trafford again an even better with the expected return of the club's keeper Alisson Becker and forward Mohamed Salah. Obviously, a healthier Liverpool lineup will make it easier for the team to sustain its impressing showing so far.
To date, Liverpool has won eight of the club's opening league games, and Solskjaer would want to put a blot on that record. In doing so, the United boss will hose down the fiery rumors that a loss on Sunday will lead to his sacking.
The United hierarchy, however, has already ruled out an early exit for Solskjaer, whom the board was tasked to rebuild the Red Devils roster over the next two to three years.
