Lucifer season 5 is arriving on Netflix next year and this would be the final installment of the series. Now, the streaming giant has decided not to drop all episodes at once, instead, the series' final run will be divided into two parts.

Tom Ellis, who plays the titular character, recently, appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show. The actor revealed that the 16 episodes of Lucifer season 5 will be split into two parts. He explained that Netflix will drop eight episodes first before taking a little break.

After that, the remaining eight episodes will arrive on the streaming platform. Initially, Lucifer season 5 only has 10 episodes. However, Netflix ordered an additional six episodes during its production. The platform added more episodes to allow the story to come to an end; solving all the loose ends.

Recent reports also hint that one of the 16 episodes will feature a '40s-themed musical. Ellis confirmed that such a theme will be featured in the fourth episode of Lucifer season 5. On Sunday, Oct. 27, the actor posted a video on his Instagram, teasing a Gene Kelly-feel episode 4.

In the caption, Ellis wrote they had fun doing the episode and the clip hints the musical episode will solely air in black and white. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor said the episode is a trip down memory like with Lucifer and it will answer some questions fans have been asking.

Meanwhile, Lesley-Ann Brandt, who plays Mazikeen, told the outlet that they're on a period where the language is different, as well as what they wear. The episode will be different from what viewers often know about the characters and will answer why Maze is the way she is.

In episode 6, on the other hand, writers teased that it will have a fun episode title. The official writers' room of the series shared via Twitter that the sixth episode will consist of eight letters -- the third letter is "u" and the last is "z."

While it's hard to speculate, CarterMatt assumed "z" actually stands for "s" and the episode title will sound either edgy or ridiculous. After all, there are only a few details on every episode of Lucifer season 5. So, this little info about the sixth episode already made fans even more excited.

Lucifer season 5 has no official release date yet. However, it is expected to arrive in 2020. Meanwhile, all four seasons of the series are available to watch on Netflix.
