One of the many speculations and rumors that we have heard is that Apple might release a refresh of iPad Pro this year. We have heard various claims about the upcoming Apple tablet. However, it appears that those rumors are not valid and we might not see the 2019 iPad Pro refresh.
The latest news comes directly from Apple CFO Luca Maestra, who confirms that the 2019 iPad Pro refresh is no longer happening. The CFO makes the statement during the most recent Apple 2019 Q4 Earnings call. Maestra was asked about the lower than anticipated Q1 guidance of the company, and The Motley Fool transcribed his reply.
According to the CFO, one of the factors that must be considered when looking at the guidance range is the comparison to the launch of the iPad Pro a year earlier, as well as the new MacBook Air that was released in December 2018. The Apple executive adds that the launch timing of the company for iPad and Mac categories are different. The 2019 iPad pro was speculated to launch in October 2019, housing an A13x Apple processor and a triple camera configuration.
The rumored Apple tablet is anticipated to sport the same design and display as the 2018 iPad Pro. Recently, Apple released the iPadOS 13.2 concentrating on enhancing the user productivity and multitasking feature of the iPad Pro. The update even released mouse support, which many believe could still improve and could make the iPad Pro a hard-core gaming tablet.
The 2019 iPad Pro is also rumored to sport a triple camera setup. It is also anticipated to feature a wide front-facing camera, which could be a significant upgrade. Additionally, several rumors claim that the 2019 iPad Pro will have a Neural Engine aside from the a13x bionic chip.
These will further enhance the overall performance of the iPad pro and will allow for various camera supports like Deep Fusion and night Mode. While the 2019 iPad Pro might not arrive this year, it will most likely be released in the first quarter of 2020. It might also utilize the iPhone 11's dual-camera feature, which the 2018 iPad Pro did with iPhone XR.
It appears that Apple is preparing for a wide range of product releases next year. We have read reports about the arrival of 2020 iPhones with 5G support and 5nm A14 chips. The company is also expected to release the AR Glasses in the first quarter of 2020 and maybe the iPad Pro too.
