Cristiano Ronaldo is a man with a goal in mind and like all other football players he wants his name etched in the annals of the sport's history. The Talisman would like to reach another milestone that is making 100 international goals for his national team Portugal. And, while he was not yet able to achieve it, he made a classy move that silenced Luxemburg fans who were chanting Messi's name during Portugal's match against Luxemburg.
Cristiano Ronaldo has set and broken records in football. Recently, the Juventus legend has achieved his 98th international goal and is just a couple of goals shy of reaching a new career milestone. Unfortunately, things did not go according to Ronaldo's plan who would have loved scoring a couple of goals during the match against Luxemburg.
During the first half of the match, Ronaldo lined up a long-range effort from outside the box but instead of getting it clean, his shot was wide and high. Luxemburg fans made sure that Ronaldo knew how bad it was. Supporters mocked the Talisman and chanted Messi, Messi, Messi. But, when the final whistle was blown, Ronaldo has the last laugh.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal later in the game, which confirmed Portugal's qualification in Euro 2020. This classy move silenced Luxemburg fans that were earlier chanting Messi's name. Ronaldo tapped in from a yard out following the slammed shot made by his teammate.
Ronaldo made his 99th international goal under Portugal, just a point away from his milestone. The Portugal captain scored the team's second goal following Bruno Fernandes opening the scoring during the first half. The match ended with 2-0 in favor of Portugal and enough to send the country to the Euro 2020 tournament in summer where they will have to defend their crown against France.

Meanwhile, there have been whispers that Cristiano Ronaldo and Maurizio Sarri of Juventus are not in good terms. The issue surfaced after Ronaldo was pulled out from the game where he said something to the coach before storming into the tunnel. Several reports claimed that Juventus was anxious about Ronaldo playing for Portugal n fear that it might aggravate his knee injury.
However, it appears that Ronaldo was doing well and the Portugal coach even shared with the press that he was normally training with the Portugal team.
