The Rookie season 2 episode 9 is still a few weeks away, but a lot of things are coming up within this episode. Titled "Breaking Point," the upcoming episode will see Nolan's trust being tested, while Harper will be visiting her daughter.
In the synopsis of The Rookie season 2 episode 9, Officer Nolan is trying to help the previous owner of his home who wants to reconnect with his family. However, this will become a personal issue for him as his trust is being tested.
Officer Harper, on the other hand, has finally earned an overnight visit with her daughter in The Rookie season 2 episode 9. But then, her visit was put in jeopardy after her past undercover life has started to resurface again.
Meanwhile, there will be no new episodes arriving next week because of the American Music Awards. So, The Rookie season 2 episode 9 will air the following week. Also, we are now nearing the season finale, thus, the series will likely accelerate from here.
In another report, The Rookie season 2 has an impressive rating ever since the series aired every Sunday night this fall. The second installment has managed to generate about a 0.6 rating in the demo. Though the number hasn't changed, the series remains steady.
As per CarterMatt, if The Rookie will remain on its current standing, then viewers likely will be getting a third season. In addition, the ABC series continued its strong delayed-viewing performance in week six -- doubling its adults 18-49 rating in three days.
The November 3 episode had a 0.51 rating in the demographic, and it grew to 1.09 with three days of delayed viewing. Moreover, the series' percentage gain was, reportedly, the largest for a program on the four major broadcast networks in the week of October 28. This is a sign the series is doing well, and also a factor to consider for the third installment.
The Hollywood Reporter also noted The Rookie had the largest percentage gain in terms of total viewers among the top 20 shows, increasing by 90 percent in three days -- 3.5 million viewers to 6.63 million. The series is also one of the six programs that garnered about 3 million viewers in three days, along with CBS' Blue Bloods and ABC's The Good Doctor.
The Rookie season 2 episode 9 will air on Sunday, Dec. 1, on ABC.
