WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for Chicago P.D. season 7 episode 8. Read at your own risk.

Chicago P.D. season 7 episode 8 recently aired week and one of the biggest news within this episode is that Kim Burgess is pregnant. She found out this unexpected news after being injured while pursuing a suspect, she then received a shocking diagnosis, wherein the doctor told her she's pregnant.

After the One Chicago crossover, Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) went home together -- but the series hasn't addressed that since then. But, in Chicago P.D. season 7 episode 8, titled "No Regrets," the two finally discussed what happened that night to figure out what the future may hold for them.

After being injured while in pursuit of a suspect, a doctor told Burgess that she is pregnant. While she's shocked by this news, she told Ruzek about her pregnancy sooner rather than later. She doesn't want to miss the opportunity of being a mom and she recognized that she had to make a huge decision.

Burgess and Ruzek weren't in a romantic relationship, which could make things even more complicated for them. But by the end of Chicago P.D. season 7 episode 8, she chose to continue her pregnancy and have the baby. It is possible the two will raise the child together in the future, whether they're romantically involved or not.

Previously, showrunner Rick Eid told Us Weekly that the two will have a relationship but it would be different from what they previously had. Eid teased they're with each other in a "different way," possibly hinting about co-parenting. While he didn't reveal what's waiting for Burgess and Ruzek in the future, he said that they're really excited about what's going on with these two; teasing a "Burzek 2.0".

The pair got together during the first season, and they even got engaged. However, in season 3, they called off their engagement and remained friends and colleagues since then. But now that they're expecting a baby together, many think they will now finally rekindle their romantic relationship.

Meanwhile, as for what else happened in Chicago P.D. season 7 episode 8, a homicide case becomes a mission person's case -- but with a sinister twist. Voight, on the other hand, has to decide between the letter of the law and justice, testing the character's decision once again.

Chicago P.D. season 7 airs every Wednesday on NBC.
