CD Projekt Red's "Cyberpunk 2077" is one of the most awaited video game releases in 2020. Aside from the special participation of the Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves, there are lots of exciting features that gamers are looking forward to the title. Unfortunately, it appears that the upcoming title will not be released in the next generation gaming consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett.

"Cyberpunk 2077" is releasing at the twilight of the current generation gaming consoles making it the favorite topic of speculations that it might release on next generation gaming consoles. While there is a chance for "Cyberpunk 2077" to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett, it is impossible that the game will release alongside upcoming consoles. In a recent conference call with investors, a couple of CD Projekt Red leaders discussed its plans to introduce the first-person shooter game to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett.

CDPR Chief Finance Officer Piotr Nielubowicz shared that the team has insights into what is on the corner and what is happening with gaming console giants these days. He reveals that the team is watching the events closely as it unfolds. The CFO also emphasizes that CDPR will do something with "Cyberpunk 2077" and the next generation gaming consoles in the future but refuses to reveal details at this point.

The chief finance officer also mentions that "Cyberpunk 2077" will be released on Google Stadia. Earlier CD Projekt Red confirmed that the much-awaited first-person RPG would arrive in Google's video streaming service later in 2020 instead of its scheduled April 2020 release date on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The executive also underlines that "Cyberpunk 2077" will not be a free title like "Destiny 2: The Collection."

Meanwhile, CD Projekt Red CEO and President Adam Kicinski shares a brief but encouraging follow up during the meeting. He reveals that CDPR titles are always sort of ahead of technology and are always played best on solid PCs. According to the CEO, in several areas, the gaming studio is almost ready for much higher specs in gaming.

He adds that from a technical perspective, it is doable. Microsoft and Sony already confirmed that the Playstation 5 and Xbox Scarlett would both feature backwards compatibility. In other words, "Cyberpunk 2077" will be likely playable in next generation gaming consoles and could take advantage of their processing power and next generation features.

Both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett are expected to arrive sometime in the holiday of 2020.
