A new set of rumors is making rounds online, claiming that Rockstar Games will soon release a new IP set in medieval times. The latest buzz comes from a random Reddit user named iknowstuff312 claiming to have a source feeding them accurate details about the story details of "Red Dead Redemption 2," and content of "Grand Theft Auto Online." Based on this claim, the next title that Rockstar Games will release is not the much-awaited title "GTA 6" or the heavily rumored "Bully 2" but a new IP.
The tipster shares on Reddit that Rockstar Games' new IP is an open-world Medieval game slated to release sometime in the first quarter of 2021, or at least that is what the game developer is internally targeting. Additionally, the leaker states that an announcement of this reportedly new IP is happening very soon. Unfortunately, this is where the details run dry. The only thing that the leaker reveals about the upcoming IP is that it will feature swordsmanship and dueling.
Earlier, another Reddit user reportedly discovered a profile of someone who allegedly worked for Rockstar Games on a TBA IP that includes 'creating modular environment pieces with organic finish carefully following medieval architecture style.' The profile is questionable because it misspells the word medieval to medival. However, if it is legit, it seems a compelling support to the recent claim of a new IP set in medieval times.
We know Rockstar Games is currently working hard on its next game, given several job ads spotted by fans recently. Speculations have it that the game developer is working on multiple games at the moment. With the release of "Red Dead Redemption 2" a year ago and the release of its PC port a few weeks ago, the game developer could make an announcement about its new offering in the gaming industry anytime soon.
A medieval new IP from Rockstar Games sounds interesting, considering that it would be a departure from the usual theme that gamers enjoyed over the years from the game developer. But, if there is a new IP, the nagging question that begs to be answered is, what happened to "GTA 6" and "Bully 2?" Will Rockstar Games release the much-awaited titles soon, or did it dropped the idea of releasing the titles altogether?
All of these are rumors, and like all other rumors, we suggest to take these with a considerable amount of salt.
